The FAQ's about wolverine and his FAQ pages

Who maintains the FAQ pages?

I do. My name is Chris Kam but online I am better known as wolverine.  Most of the questions come from posts at the different paintball forums that I frequent and/or moderate.  Most of the answers are from me, the Smart Parts manual or other forum users.

Why did you start the Impulse FAQ?

When I got my Impulse in July of 2000 it was a new marker and very few people knew a lot about it.  We all learned it together.  Once it got popular we kept seeing the same questions over and over again so I decided to write a list of Frequently Asked Questions.  The FAQ was born in early 2001 out of my laziness to avoid having to keep answering those repetitive questions.

Why did you start the Ion FAQ?

Basically for the same reason I started the Impulse FAQ.  There were a lot of questions after this marker was released in February 2005.  I bought an Ion in March of that same year and decided I needed something else to do since the Impulse was "going away".

Are you Smart Parts certified?

Nope.  But I have a couple good friends that are.   The Impulse and Ion are simple marker and once you get past the initial fear of an electro it's quite easy to troubleshoot and correct problems.  My knowledge is from personal experiences and from reading what has happened to others and seeing what happened to solve those problems.

Why do you do reviews?

Again this was something that was lacking for the Impulse when it was first released.  As the upgrade parts were released people wanted to know how well they performed.  I bought a couple and wrote down my experiences to share with others.  Currently I work with different manufacturers to test their products before they are released and then to do a review for the purpose of public knowledge on the parts.

With the release of the Ion the lack of reviews for new products again became an issue.

I am a manufacturer with a new Impulse/Ion upgrade, how can I get you to test/review it?

Simple, drop me an e-mail (chrisguy@kamworld.net) and we can workout the details.

What if I find a mistake in the FAQ?

Well by all means please let me know.  You can e-mail me at chrisguy@kamworld.net or catch me on AIM as ckam69.

How can I submit a question to the FAQ?

You can e-mail me (chrisguy@kamworld.net) or use the "Ask the FAQ" submission form.  If you really want to be nice, submit a question AND the answer!!

Why doesn't the Impulse FAQ or Ion FAQ have it's own domain name?

I am a computer geek by day, but not a web programmer/designer.  The domain name kamworld.net is mine for me and my family.  I have never felt the need to purchase a domain name for the FAQ because that would lead to me needing to get a hosting provider and then having to try and get money from advertisers.  That's all too much trouble.   The FAQ is here to help people not make money.  As they say "What's in a name??"  Besides if had the name "ImpulseFAQ" then I would have to buy another name to have IonFAQ.  This way I just work with what I have.

Can I link to the FAQ?
