New DeSignz Ball Detents

From the Web site:

Customization with added performance is what its all about. Our new Impulse style threaded ball detents with custom star milling. We offer both the short and long (Vision side) length style ball detents. Our detents have a slightly higher spring rate. This helps prevent double feeding when using force feed hoppers. Yet, not that strong to create unwanted wear on the detents or bolt.

  • Custom milled profile
  • Slightly higher spring rate. Helps prevent double feeding when using force feed hoppers
  • Comes in all our popular colors as shown
  • Standard or Vision length

*Available Red, Black, Green, Purple, Blue & Silver.

Why get the New DeSignz ball detents?

With a little story, I can tell you why I got them.

Everyone knows that I have an Adrenalin Impulse and if you've seen me play or seen pictures you should know that I use an EVO II on it.  I was very happy with the EVO II until after a couple minor mishaps (no fault of Viewloader's product) I found that my EVO II would not work as anything other than a shake-n-shoot.  So it was decision time....buy a new EVO II or get a HALO....

I decided to try a HALO, so I bought a HALO B with Rip Drive and ST-Z code (Soft Touch Version Z).  This is supposed to be the best of the best in HALO technology.  In conjunction with the HALO, since I know they work better with Low Rises or "No-Rises" I replaced the stock Adrenalin feed tube with a New DeSignz No-Rise.  Here's a link to the No Rise Review.

Everything was working great, for a while.  Then my Impulse became a blender.  I quickly found that one of the balls from my Adrenalin Ball Detent had left the detent.  This is not uncommon with detents that are well over a year old and have seen many cases of paint, so I was not upset.  I got some Smart Parts "strong" detents designed for use with a HALO.  Now to be honest, it's possible that I was sold the "strong" detents but they weren't really the "strong" detents.  You can't tell by looking at them, but I can tell you I was still blending paint.

So... I decided to get a pair of New DeSignz Ball Detents.  Coincidently, the day they arrived a friend called and asked me if I wanted to go ballin at the local field for Tuesday night BYOP night.  How could I say NO??  So off I was with my freshly installed ND Ball Detents and anxious to see if I could have a good (or better yet great) night of paintball.

These detents worked like a charm.  I was throwing paint like no other and didn't have a single break.  Now I know these detents will not last for ever, after all they are detents and they all loose their balls after a while.  So I plan on getting a second pair for my tool box, just in case.
