New DeSignz High Volume Valve Cap (HVVC)

From the Web site:

Currently this cap is available in the 3 styles seen.  Smooth, 3 Rib, and 5 Rib design.  Anodized colors available as pictured. Blue, Green, Purple, Gold, Silver and Black.

  • Testing shows velocity increases. Users of HPA can see a 15-25fps increase. Co2 results are less.
  • Using the cap alone on a stock Impulse will allow you to dry fire without keeping the bolt hung open.
  • These volumizers hold 19.6cc versus the stock capacity of only 9.6cc.
  • Its a bit lighter, it all adds up to a marker that will be a top choice.
  • More detailed information will be made available soon.

Comments

I originally thought that Valve caps were nothing more than a way to customize the look of your Impulse.  As in, no performance increase.  I am happy to say that I was wrong.

While New DeSignz advertises that they have seen a small increase in efficiency, I saw about a 25fps increase over my Stock valve cap.  One thing to note, Smart Parts has made two different valve caps for the Impulse.  The original (which I still had) held a smaller volume of air than the current cap.  My Impulse is serial # 2402.  The higher volume valve cap from Smart Parts appeared somewhere around when the Vision system was released.

If you are the proud owner of an older (or vintage) Impulse I would highly recommend that you look into getting a New DeSignz HVVC.  Not only do they look good, they WILL add performance to your Impulse.  If you Impulse is newer, I would still consider getting a HVVC, you will still see a performance gain, and they look cool!!

Installation Instructions:

If you need instructions to install a valve cap, you should not own a paintball maker.  As a matter of fact, stay away from sharp objects too.

NOTE: If you have a Freak Factory Impulse with a flat valve cap, the spring is a different size (shorter) and will not fit correctly in any other valve cap.
