New DeSIGNZ Trigger

From the Web site:

Not to be confused with other blade triggers on the market. The widest trigger made with a large radius for extreme comfort. Now you can have that "mouse click" trigger pull for a difference you can really feel.  Lets see what's different.

  • They come in all the popular colors.
  • Fully adjustable for both the switch contact and post travel.
  • No need to remove the trigger for adjustments, make them on the gun through the small access holes.
  • Nylon tipped trigger stop set screw to stop frame wear.  Plus both set screws are made of stainless steel with SAE threads. Not only that, the screws themselves can never back out and get lost.
  • Loctite (removable) is pre-applied to both set screws for added convenience.
  • Wider than stock for minimal side to side wobble.
  • Hard coat anodized for maximum wear resistance.
  • Its as wide as the trigger guard with a rounded finger area for the ultimate in comfort.  Its .375 wide.
  • Replaces the stock trigger with
    no other modification.
  • The only trigger that comes packaged with a SAE spec allen wrench.

Comments

The first thing I noticed when I removed the trigger from the package is that it is FAT!!  OK, the correct term is WIDE, but the extra "width" of the trigger definitely makes it more comfortable.  I remember the original aluminum triggers that came with the early Impulses.  Everyone liked the feel, just not the excessive travel.  This trigger reminds me of that trigger, comfortable and wide and yet it is not the same because this one is tight and crisp!!

The NEW DeSIGNZ trigger fresh out of the package.

Normally the stock stainless steel trigger is wider than many of the aftermarket triggers, but not when it comes to the NEW DeSIGNZ trigger.  See the picture below.

Like other externally adjustable triggers installation is simple, out with the old, in with the new and adjust.  But then we take an interesting turn....

The set screws in this trigger have already had something put on them to prevent the set screws from backing out....yes that is correct, set the trigger and go, no need for loc-tite.

Another innovation that New DeSignz brings to the table is that the post travel set screw, the one that touches the trigger frame, has a nylon tip on it.  I can tell you that my trigger frame has a small dimple starting from other post travel set screws digging in to the frame.  The nylon stopper will prevent that.

The Details

  • COLOR: Available in many different colors.  Currently: Blue, Purple, Green, Red, Gold, Silver and Black.
  • MSRP: $29.95
  • MANUFACTURER: NEW DeSIGNZ, www.newdesignz.com
  • PROs: Prior to seeing the NEW DeSIGNZ trigger I did not think there was much a manufacturer could do to improve the function of an aftermarket trigger.  I was wrong.  This trigger is wider and has a nylon nub on the post travel set screw to protect the finish on your trigger frame.  Innovative!!
  • CONs: This trigger is machined to fit tight in the trigger frame.  While this is a good thing from the perspective of side-to-side play, I found that it was a little tricky (not impossible) to get the trigger in the trigger frame.  This should not scare anyone away, but be prepared.
