IPB Impulse Triggers - Wermstick and Double

From the Web site:

Our Wermstick is made unlike any other stick trigger. Its extends out away from the grip, bringing the trigger out on the same plane as the triggers pivot point. The trigger follows the angle of the grip, to a more comfortable position for the hand. These are fully adjustable for post-travel, pre-travel, & switch actuation. And they are made precisely to minimize side to side play. They are available for both old style trigger frames (trigger spring is on a 45 degree angle) and new style trigger frames (trigger spring in straight up & down). Specify which board is in your marker (Shocker dome switch, L/S, or glacier. Impulse old style trigger frame or new style.)

From the Web site:

Our own replacement triggers for the shocker and impulse. Made of aluminum, these triggers are extremely light. They are fully adjustable for post-travel, pre-travel, & switch actuation. 2 styles to choose from. One for old style frames (trigger spring is on an angle). And one for new style trigger frames (trigger spring is vertical). Designed to eliminate side to side play. Specify which board is in your marker (Shocker dome switch, L/S, or glacier. Impulse old style trigger frame or new style.)

The instructions:

  1. Trigger pull can be adjusted as short or long as desired.
  2. Kit includes extra setscrew for use in different markers (Impulse or Shocker, old style frame or new style frame).
  3. Always adjust post-travel last, after pre-travel & switch actuation is set and trigger is installed in frame.
  4. Loc-tite all set screws in desired position.
  5. These triggers are made to be as snug as possible to eliminate side-to-side play. In the unlikely event where the trigger is too tight, use fine sandpaper on top of trigger to bring thickness down.

Comments

Installing a IPB trigger is a quick and easy process.  Installation should take the average person 15-20 minutes and that is including time to adjust the trigger to their liking.  One of the key features of a IPB trigger is three adjustment points.  This allows you to set the pre-travel, post-travel and switch actuation.  In comparison, as most of us know the stock trigger does not have any adjustment points.

In testing both triggers, I preferred the Wermstick.  I have found that in general I prefer flat style triggers over double trigger.  In my experience, it is easier to "rip" on the sweet spot with a flat trigger.
